US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin this morning announced that the tax filing deadline has been extended to July 15. This is in addition to the previously announced deferral of tax payments. No filing of any kind will be required by April 15. Tax payments of up to $1,000,000 for individual taxpayers and up to $10,000,000 for corporate taxpayers that would normally be due April 15 can be deferred until July 15 with no interest or penalty. This also applies to 2020 estimated tax payments normally due April 15.
